Acorn is developing strategies to assist more effective partnership-working on the £150 million contract to create new Ministry of Defence intelligence facilities at RAF Wyton in Cambridgeshire.
Acorn has been engaged by the prime contractor Skanska UK plc which is responsible for the construction of the new complex of buildings, the architectural, structural and civil design and all of the mechanical and electrical installation of the high profile project scheduled for completion in 2013.
Skanska is working under the supervision of Defence Estate’s, and other stakeholders include the Ministry of Defence and representatives from the three branches of the armed services as well as various sub contractors.
Acorn managing director Keith Longley explains: "Skanska recognises from its previous experience on MoD programmes that allocating resources to ensure true collaborative working among all the stakeholders is a valuable element in delivering the project. A genuine understanding and appreciation of the demands and drivers on all sides of the project can make a huge contribution to its ultimate success."
